At this morning's press gaggle, the White House Press Corps went gaga for a New York Daily News story alleging that President Bush has known Karl Rove was the Plame leaker for two years while denying it until it became public.
When questioned, Press Secretary Scott McClellan responded:
"Two things: One, we're not commenting on an ongoing investigation; two, and I would challenge the overall accuracy of that news account."
McClellan add:
"Two things: One, we're not commenting on the status of the horse in question; two, a horse is a horse, of course....of course." White house reporters, in need of clarification, were required to go right to the source to ask the horse. They then endorsed his answer.
Seriously, you can't fucking do that. If you're going to deny something, deny it. We know it's a lie, but at least it's an official lie.
