May posterity forget that John Yoo was our countryman

"It is naïve to say, as Mr. Obama did in his inaugural speech, that we can 'reject as false the choice between our safety and our ideals.'" - John Yoo, The Wall Street Journal, January 29, 2009.

"They who can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety." - Benjamin Franklin, circa February 17, 1775.

"If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude than the animated contest of freedom — go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains sit lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen!" - Samuel Adams, August 1, 1776.
