Gus the Prognosticator

A prediction (well, more of a theory vulnerable to many different forms of attack.) The day the Fitzgerald indictments come down or shortly thereafter, Bush dumps Miers.

Here's my thinking: Indictments = bad news. But losing a Supreme Court nominee also = bad news. However, nominating another person to the Supreme Court (either one everyone can rally behind or one that crazy ass Christians can rally behind) is a very Presidential thing to do. It will at the very least reduce the amount of coverage Treasongate will get and nominating another person immediately will shift the focus from Miers to the new guy. If this administration knows how to do one thing, its how to manipulate a news cycle.

Thoughts?
