I'm very disappointed by BDK's Parkour post for failing to mention the seminal moment when Parkour stopped being "street" and entered the mainstream.
Kevin Bacon was Parkouring 20 years before it was cool.

I think that is what the people who think Parkour shouldn't involve flips and tricks are concerned about.
