A Return to Values

A man named Claude Allen is the Assistant to the President of the United States for Domestic Policy. He's been nominated twice to the 4th Circuit Court of Appeals but was fillibustered by those pesky Democrats. He's a darling of James Dobson's group, Focus on the Family, a Christian organization that lauds a return to the family values that have been slowly eroded. He's appeared several times on Dobson's television show. He's headed the White House's initiatives on such wonderfully Christian activities such as school prayer, abstinence in lieu of education, and banning abortion.

By the way, he's also a thief and, in his free time rips off Target stores. He's been charged with felonies stemming from a scheme in which he would, among other things, purchase an item, later return to the store, take the same item off the shelf, and bring it to the customer service desk for a refund. He's done this for several thousand dollars of merchandise.

Who the hell are the people in charge of this country? I used to think they were just elitists who were self-interested and money-motivated. It looks increasingly like they're common crooks and thugs.

UPDATE: Mr. Allen was also the jerk-off in charge of coordinating the White House response to Hurricane Katrina (there was one?).
