French labor laws

Ignoring any reasoned or detailed analysis of the situation, I will only note that it doesn't seem to me like France has a youth labor problem.

I mean, certainly the homemade banner industry is still going strong.

From what little I've read on the subject, French unemployement is at 10% and up to 50% among the youth because of France's extensive worker protection laws that make it hard to fire someone. In an attempt to get businesses to hire more youngins, the government wants to make it easier to fire them. SHIT, LETS GO BURN SOME CARS!

I love how they're outraged by this while basically every worker in America has an "at will" section in his contract...
