"Zuma is my president" -- ugh.

I haven't been following the trial of the ex-deputy president of South Africa on rape charges. However, the verdict was written up in the post today, and it contained some interesting quotes, including a description of a bunch of Zulu kings dressed in leopard skins singing "Zuma is my president!" when he was acquitted.

I'm not saying the guy is guilty. But I have to wonder:

The testimony was extremely graphic, and he was widely criticized for saying that he knew the alleged victim wanted sex because she wore a knee-length skirt into his home and sat in a way he found suggestive. In addition, AIDS activists ridiculed Zuma's contention that he was unlikely to contract HIV because he took a shower after intercourse with the infected woman.

Ugh.
