The frivolity continues as we cover a report that the Dutch are only the latest army to fall for the whole "alchohol forbidden in Muslim countries" gag.Dutch troops helping earthquake survivors in Pakistan have complained that while they are subject to an alcohol ban, Spanish and British soldiers laugh at their austerity and turn up drunk at their campfire.I'm not sure who this story says more about: the Dutch, Pakistanis, or Spanish and British squaddies. After much deliberation, I have decided on the following response:
"We were told before we arrived that alcohol was banned in this country or else very difficult to get hold of and we accepted this," one soldier told the Dutch daily De Telegraaf.
Suckers! Now you'll think twice before helping earthquake victims.
