So, is this a real possibility?
If it is, I only hope we end up with the best of Libertarians and Liberals, and not the worst of Libertarians and Liberals. It would be the perfect storm of sanctimonious self-righteousness and silly self-assurance.
On the other hand, outside of criticizing politicians, I haven't had any interest in involving myself in politics for years. This would be the one movement that might get me back into it.

All I know is that the last self-professed libertarian I knew bounced two rent checks on me. Not that I'm bitter or anything.
I agree with your analysis--an alliance between liberals and libertarians would either be the worst or the best thing to happen to either group, depending on which values combined to make up the whole.
