Hong Kong looks like a big, badass city (where it's always night). Nice and messy, with lights and glitz. Very cool, kinda crazy.

In re: Blog Issues #3. You say, "Opinions on things still puerile and worthless." I would refer you to one of your earlier posts, "On the Essential Stupidity of Things." The crappiness of our opinions are fine! It's the things themselves that are crappy; how could our opinions be otherwise while retaining their connection to the things? No, really--our opinions may be dumb, but they're no dumber than most everyone else's. So, let us opine.

I think some of what you call bullshit could also be classified as luck. Performance on any one event (test, paper, whatever) is subject to a lot of luck, after all. It can cut either way (good or bad), or not at all. I don't think that's the bullshit. It's exactly what really irks you: The failure of people to acknowledge as such the out-of-character performances that give some people that extra push. Oh, and, like you say, the absolute idiocy of basing major decisions on events that are so subject to chance. Yeah, that's messed up.
