I Love NY

On the one hand, you've got fiercely local Queens newsweeklies in fiercely local Queens. Favorite lines:

“Ask someone at The New York Times about Queens,” he said. “It’s like two airports so they can fly to Washington, D.C. That’s what Queens is to them.”

Ms. Walthers, likewise, regards reporters from Manhattan as interlopers. Nothing personal, she said, “but you’re dealing mostly with people that came from Iowa.”

On the other, you've got the Knickerbocker Greys, an Upper East Side "organization for children ages 6 to 16" wherein they engage in "paramilitary manuevers. Favorite lines:
“Basically, I joined for the swords.”
“I’m not going to ever join the military, though. Not unless my parents go bankrupt. I can’t stand the sight of blood.”
