Fresh Hot Posenwatch!

Robin Givhan of the Washington Post serves up a zinger aimed at our mutual acquaintance's forehead.
Zac Posen is another designer whose ever-growing stature leaves one puzzled. He has become a phenomenon with standing-room-only shows that draw celebrities, top-of-the-masthead editors and retailers. And yet the clothes are a sweeping display of technical skill without a cohesive point of view.
Like crabs, from beneath, we claw at his fifteen minutes!

Yow: "He is the fashion equivalent of 'N Sync, but the fashion industry thinks it's found a modern-day Mozart."

The Times' coverage is a bit more measured, by which I mean less nasty. The bloom, however, is off the rose. And such a shame--just when he'd been getting better reviews.

I feel vaguely nauseated. (From Slate, which doesn't really say all that much about Zac, and certainly nothing that the WaPo or NYT didn't already. But you know what they say about a picture's worth....)

Is that picture from the dust jacket of The Grapes of Wrath?
